Since I was young, I had a dream to be in the travel field, my thoughts were always to be a stewardess, well that quickly went out the window while during my first flight I realized I get severe motion sickness. Change course to helping others fulfill their dreams by planning travel.
I still recall my first days as an agent and the world I had to learn. I have watched travel evolve from hand written tickets to paperless documents. I have been lucky enough to be in all aspects of the travel agency, including teaching travel for our local college.
During Covid I had the opportunity to take my skills to the next level by opening my own agency, along with the assistance of my entire office family, as well as my business partner, Rod. I have now entered my 34th year in the business and still love planning those trips and working with my office family.
I have been fortunate to check off many destinations on my bucket list and even found some that I didn't know should have been on my list. I believe traveling should be as active as you want and as relaxing as you can.
I have helped clients plan everything from a massage on the beach to shark diving in Africa. Is the thought of having tea with a Geisha in Japan appealing or maybe tasting Bourbon right here in Kentucky? I love planning it all and no trip is too small or too large. I've been a businessman for 40 years now.
I met Beth in the late 90s as she was my travel agent. Over the years we used Beth for booking many trips, and she was wonderful to work with. We became friends as well as travel agent/customer.
I previously owned a condo in Isla Mujeres (near Cancun) so I was booking the condo for myself as well as booking the complex for other travelers to enjoy. That brought many conservations as Beth would also have guests that enjoyed traveling there.
Along came COVID, Beth called and told me the agency she was with for many years was closing due to Covid, we talked about her running her own agency and many of the staff said they would love to work with Beth if she did.
Beth said she didn’t know much about business, and I said I don’t know much about the travel industry, so we became partners complimenting each other’s expertise and experience!
It has gone very well, and we are growing by always seeking to add experienced home based agents anywhere in the US as independent contractors, leisure as well as corporate agents.
